Dry Dock Alert Four Winds Maui
From Sunday, October 25th through Sunday, November 15th, the Four Winds II will be unavailable for tours while she is in for her routine Dry Dock on Oahu.
Every two years, we take her out of the water to do a complete maintenance and make improvements. Should you wish to take a snorkel trip during these dates, we recommend that you check-out our other boat, THE MAUI MAGIC.
If you don’t have children under 5, or need a lot of shade, the Maui Magic is the ideal vessel for your Maui snorkel adventures! Fast and nimble, the Magic actually visits two snorkel sites (Molokini and another that is chosen daily by the Captain). The second snorkel site is where you can actually see and snorkel with turtles. Additionally, this trip also features a daily dolphin search where we look for Spinner and Bottle Nose dolphins in the wild!
It is great that you have chosen to book with Four Winds. We look forward to welcoming you onboard soon!
Can I swim with the dolphins?
The Four Winds II does not travel to the more rugged coastlines of Maui where the dolphins typically reside. So it is only on occasion that we see dolphins. However our sister-boat, the Maui Magic, offers a Dolphin Discovery Adventure Snorkel where you can see dolphins in the wild. You just can not intentionally swim with them.
When dolphins approach the Maui Magic, it is illegal for anyone to enter the water with intention to swim with them. However, if dolphins happen to arrive while you are in the water that is acceptable. The Maui Magic wants you to have an amazing Dolphin Discovery, but out first obligation is to protect and preserve Hawaii's precious marine life. Hawaii's dolphins are a treasured and protected resource.
